December Customer Newsletter Banner 2019 - Earth Networks

EDITOR'S NOTE

When we started publishing the EN Highlights newsletter back in March, we set out to create something educational that would provide real value. Each edition features a dedicated web page that goes into the weeds on a weather-related topic. You can explore every featured topic in the Weather 101 Resources library.

Our other goal with this newsletter was to highlight how awesome our customers are. That's why each edition features a customer video plucked from our growing collection of Success Stories

We hope that we are delivering on both of these fronts and that you enjoy receiving this email each month. Thank you for supporting Earth Networks and happy holidays!

Now we're digging into lightning alerting to help you prepare for the next busy season for lightning activity (April through August). Get ahead of the storm with this guide that explores the different types of lightning alerts, how they work together, and when you should use them.

Not much of a reader? We recently hosted a live webcast and Q&A session to discuss lightning alerting and the Earth Networks products that support it. Attendees called it "one of the best webinars" they've attended in a long time but you should check it out and let us know what you think.

🚨 Managing weather emergencies. We asked emergency managers to share their stories and lessons learned from managing severe weather events (like hurricanes and flooding). Expanding lightning research to save lives in India with the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology.

At least 2,000 people die each year in India due to lightning. In the U.S., that number is closer to 30. Our partners at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) have been working for 20 years to determine why the death toll in India is so high and what can be done to keep people safe.
